SELEC-TERRAIN® TRACTION CONTROL

 

Legendary Jeep® vehicle capability improves with the Selec-Terrain® traction control system, giving you five modes to tackle almost any condition including snow. Traction is also enhanced through the available Quadra-Trac II® or Quadra-Drive® II 4WD systems. The available Quadra-Lift® air suspension system features five height settings for optimum ride performance.

AIRBAGS - FOR PROTECTION FROM ALL SIDES

Now with over 70 available safety and security features, the 2017 Grand Cherokee comes standard with multistage driver and front-passenger airbags and supplemental side-curtain airbags. Standard crush zones in the front of the vehicle and side guard door beams (integrated into the design) also help absorb excess energy and decrease its transfer to occupants.

 

WHEELS AND TIRES

Made for epic on- and off-road performance, the Grand Cherokee is capable, all the way down to its wheels and tires. Along with a standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System, the vehicle also offers options like the 18-inch Wheel available with Off Road Group.

ECO MODE

Eco Mode helps improve fuel economy by adjusting the transmission shift schedule, idle speed and interactive deceleration fuel shut off. In models equipped with a V8 engine, Eco Mode also adjusts Fuel Saver cylinder deactivation. Automatically engaged upon vehicle start up, Eco Mode activates the available Quadra-Lift® air suspension system and lowers the Jeep® Grand Cherokee when the vehicle’s speed exceeds 88 kph (55 mph). On 4WD models in 4H, the system alters the front-to-rear torque split to help increase fuel efficiency.

 

SMOOTH AND EFFICIENT EIGHT-SPEED TRANSMISSION

The Grand Cherokee on offer are:

  • The iconic SRT which features a 6.4-litre V8 engine cranking out 475hp and 470 Ib-ft torque;
  • The Trackhawk which has a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine rated to make 707hp and 645 Ib-ft torque. Despite its weight, the Trackhawk can get to 95Km (60 miles) per hour in just 3.5 seconds!

Other options available are:

  • 3.0-liter Diesel V6 engine that’s good for 240hp and 420 Ib-ft of torque; and
  • 3.6-liter PENTASTAR® V6 Petrol engine that’s rated to make 295hp and 260 pound-feet of torque.

 

AVAILABLE ACCIDENT AVOIDANCE SYSTEMS

Even the most attentive drivers will appreciate these warning systems. Approach another object too rapidly and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Crash Mitigation alerts you with an audible and visual warning and automatically engages the brakes if a collision is imminent. The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically adjusts cruising speed to maintain a preset distance between you and vehicles in front of you.

 

INTERIOR SEATING

The new available, Grand Cherokee interior is topped with a soft suede-like headliner for a deluxe finish. Quilted bolsters with contrast piping highlight the soft, supple optional Laguna leather-trimmed interior. Gloss, real wood accents add warmth and style to the sumptuous and inviting interior. Adding to the luxury and comfort are heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.
